No. 3 Notre Dame Lady Pios vs. No. 1 Brusly Lady Panthers

Top 1

Notre Dame's Allie Daigle singled in the top of the first inning and scored on a triple down the right field line by Elise LeBeouf to give the Lady Pios a 1-0 advantage.

Bottom 1

Brusly's Carlie Comeaux singled to left field with one out but Brittney Nolan picked up the ball and fired a strike to Allie Daigle to nail Comeaux trying to stretch the hit into a double. 


Top 2

Notre Dame goes down in order as Brusly pitcher Carli Jo LeBlanc gets a ground out and then strikes the next two batters out.

Bottom 2

Lady Panthers go down in order on a strike out, a line out to third base and a fly out to second base.

Top 3

Megan Murrell leads draws a leadoff walk to start the inning but is erased at second base on a fielder's choice by Taylor Boulet. Allie Daigle then strikes out and Elise LeBeouf grounds out to shortstop to end the inning.

Bottom 3

Mollie Stelly strikes out Camryn Comeaux for the first out of the inning but Claire Daigle reached base on a throwing error. Akilya Thymes followed up with a single and Carlie Comeaux delivered a two-run double down the left field line to put the Lady Panthers up 2-1. Carli Jo LeBlanc then hit  a line drive to left that looked as if it would go for extra bases but left fielder Brittney Nolan makes a highlight reel sliding catch to end the inning.

Top 4

Alexa Thibodeaux grounds out to third base to third base to start the inning and Taylor Satchell flied out to center field. Brittney Nolan then popped up to third base for the third out of the inning.

Bottom 4

Shelby Fleming and Camryn Comeaux log back-to-back two out singles and Claire Daigle draws a walk to load the bases for the Lady Panthers. Lady Pios get out of a potential jam when Akilya Thymes grounds to third base and Alex Boulet tags her bag to get the force out.

Top 5

Mollie Stelly grounds out to shortstop for the first out and Zoie Lavergne flies out to left. Megan Murrell strikes out to end the inning.

Bottom 5

Carlie Comeaux reaches on an error and Lanesha Taylor comes through with an RBI double to put Brusly up 3-1 with no outs. Stelly rebounds with a strikeout of Carli Jo LeBlanc but Kaitlin David draws a walk to give the Lady Panthers runners at first and second. Maddie Lapraire singled to single to drive in another run and advanced to second on the throw to the plate. Shelby Fleming brings home another run on a ground out to shortstop before the Lady Pios finally get out of the inning on a ground out to third base.

BRUSLY LEADS 5-1

Top 6

Taylor Boulet strikes out to start inning. Allie Daigle then reaches base on an infield single after her grounder up the middle goes off pticher's leg and Elise LeBeouf singles to center and advances to second on a throw in to third base. Lady Pios have runners at second and third with one out. Daigle scores on a wild pitch and LeBeouf moves up to third and scores on Alexa Thibodeaux's ground out to shortstop. Taylor Satchell flies out to first base to end the inning.

BRUSLY LEADS 5-3

Carlie Comeaux reaches on a fielder's choice but is left stranded on a ground out by Lanesha Taylor.

Brittney Nolan grounds out to third for first out. Mollie Stelly flies out to deep center field. Zoie Lavergne reaches base on error by shortstop to give Lady Pios hope....Megan Murrell goes down on strikes to end game.

Brusly, the 2011 state runnerup and the 1997 and 91 state champs, wins 5-3.

Carli Jo LeBlanc was named the Class 3A state championship game Outstanding Player after limiting the Pios to three runs on just four hits and one walk. She struck out five in seven innings.
