Couple exchange vows at Rip Van Winkle Gardens

The Rip Van Winkle Gardens served as the setting for the outdoor, evening ceremony uniting Lynzie Blair LeJeune and Damian Keith Rockett in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on September 6 at 6:15 p.m.

Parents of the bride are Randal LeJeune of Lafayette and Marcella LeJeune of Branch; and parents of the groom are Keith and Gloria Rockett of Mowata.

Presiding over the ceremony was Pastor Glen Howie.

The Ceremony

The outside ceremony took place on Jefferson Island, with a lake and large live oaks overlooking the wedding party. Two tall columns were featured on each side of the couple. Upon the columns rested urns of red lilies and tobasco roses.

Guest chairs were marked with ivory tulle bows.

Trumpeter during the ceremony was Will Green accompanied by John Moore on keyboard.

Scriptural readers were Cheryl McGee and Hannah Zaunbrecher.

Ushering wedding guests to their appointed seats were Dwayne Zaunbrecher of Eunice and Keith Savoie of Duson.

The Bride

The bride, given away by her father, wore a sleeveless, ivory laced and beaded gown with scalloped-edging on the bodice and hemline. Her gown featured a semi-cathedral train.

Her headpiece included an elbow-length tulle veil edged with scalloped ivory lace.

The bride carried a hand-held bouquet of red lilies, tobasco roses and lilly of the valley.

She accented her attire with a pearl necklace and matching earrings.

The Attendants

Serving as matron of honor was Shaina Navarre of Scott, sister of the bride; and serving as maid of honor was Alaina LeJeune of Rayne, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids included Hannah Rockett of Eunice, sister of the groom; Jessica Mautner of Lafayette, and Cher Broussard of Denham Springs, both friends of the bride.

The attendants wore green with gold accents strapless, floor-length, A-line dresses accented with a sash.

Serving as flower girl was Anya Zaunbrecher of Branch, daughter of Douglas and Marla Zaunbrecher. She wore an ivory, satin ankle-length dress accented with a sash around her waist. She complimented her attire with ivory stockings and ivory Mary Jane shoes.

Serving as ring bearer was Hans Zaunbrecher of Branch, son of Douglas and Marla Zaunbrecher. He wore a black tuxedo with a matching ivory shirt, black tie and black vest.

Serving as best man was Jonathan Rockett of Eunice, brother of the groom.

Groomsmen included Dillon LeJeune of Branch, brother of the bride; James Kee Tucker of Eunice, Christopher Tucker of Eunice, both cousins of the groom; and Joe Niles of Houston, friend of the groom.

The groom wore a black tuxedo with a matching ivory shirt, tie and vest. The groomsmen wore black tuxedos with matching black vest, ivory shirt, and tie.

The Mothers

The mother of the bride wore a floor-length garnet dress accented with gold laced sequined overlay bodice which featured a V-neck back.

The mother of the groom wore a floor-length, black dress accented with rhinestones.

The Reception

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Bayless Conference Center at Rip Van Winkle Gardens.

Guests sat at round tables accented with ivory tablecloths and square green overlays. Centerpieces included different heights of square glass vases filled with tobasco roses and red lilies along with votive candles.

The food tables displayed two large urns filled with tobasco roses, red lilies, and a large fruit display.

The wedding cake was a four-tiered white square fondant confection. The topper of the cake included a large gum-paste bow and pearlized dots and laced wrap accented each layer.

The groom’s cake was an LSU stadium theme cake.

Wedding Trip

For their honeymoon the couple took a nine-day trip to Cabos San Lucas.

The bride is a graduate of Louisiana State University where she earned a Master’s degree in Social Work.

The groom is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he earned a Bachelors degree in Engineering. He is employed with Nabors Well Services.

The couple have made their home in Hallsville, Texas.
