Couple plans July wedding
Saint Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau will be the setting on Saturday, July 27, 2013, for a wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Heather Nicole Sylvester and Derrick Bryan Trahan, both of Lafayette. The 7 p.m. ceremony will be followed by a reception at the Grand Coteau Ballroom.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Peter Sylvester of Grand Prairie and Carla Taylor Sylvester of Opelousas. Her grandparents are the late Alex and Rita Taylor of Opelousas, and the late Herman and Mildred Sylvester of Grand Prairie.
She is a 2007 graduate of Northwest High School, 2012 graduate of LSU at Alexandria, and is employed by Cameron Industries.
The prospective groom is the son of Darby and Beth Trahan of Mire. His grandparents are Alice Ellender of Duson, the late Wayne Ellender, the late Eugene and Jewell Gunter of Morgan County, Tenn., Greg and Belva Costello of Youngsville, Elaine Trahan of Breaux Bridge, and the late Victor Trahan.
He is a 2002 graduate of Rayne High School and is employed by International Well Testers.
Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
