Couples shower entertains Mary Alicia Carriere and ‘Rick’ Beslin
CROWLEY - Mary Alicia Carriere and Mark Frederick “Rick” Beslin were guests of honor at a couples shower held the evening of January 21 at the home of Judges John and M’elise Trahan.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Glenn and Mary Carriere of Church Point. Her maternal grandparents are Morris Benoit of Church Point and the late Regina Benoit and her paternal grandparents are the late Willrey and Eldine Carriere.
The prospective groom is the son of Mark and Renee’ Beslin of Rayne. His maternal grandparents are Charles Buller of Lake Charles and the late Margaret Buller and his paternal grandparents are Denny and Claire Beslin of Rayne.
In addition to the Trahans, hostesses were Ann and Steve Credeur, Denise and John W. Trahan, Jeanne and Woody Walk, Regina Buller, Matt and Chris Beslin, John Jude and Cynthia Beslin and Luke Beslin.
Dressed in a plum sheath, the prospective bride and her fiance’ greeted guests from Houston, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Alexandria and the Acadiana area.
They were treated to a lovely party where the home was decorated in a Mardi Gras theme.
Two lovely flower arrangements adorned the refreshment tables with a mixture of lilies and greenery, with lemons at the base of each vase.
Everyone enjoyed an abundant feast including chicken fettuccine, crab dip, crawfish dip, chicken salad sandwiches, meatballs, meat pies, hummus, fruit and cheese tray, fiesta bean salad and dates wrapped in bacon. For dessert there was an assortment of bonbons and a decadent double chocolate cake.
The couple has stated their intent to marry on March 30, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne. Father Dan Edwards will officiate the wedding ceremony.
