Crawfish Festival this weekend!

About a bizillion visitors in family cars and pickup trucks or in palatial motor homes or on chome-clad motorcycles will descend like the Mongol hordes, hungry for crawfish, thirsty for cold beer and craving a fast eight-count beat.

It’s a good thing, especially if the weather holds fair. The 2008 Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, anticipated by many, is finally here. Almost.

It will be held May 2-4, at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge. Part and parcel of the event are a crawfish eating contests, dancing contests, cooking contests and a parade. Not to mention an Cajun and zydeco concert unequaled in the outside world.

Even primitive peoples around the world still wearing loincloths and watching VHS have heard of the Crawfish Festival.
