Credeur states reasons for vote
CROWLEY – Acadia Parish Police Jury President A.J. Credeur offered his reasons for a recent vote against fellow juror John Quebodeaux’s motion to appoint Secretary-Treasurer Terry Lacombe to the position of CAO while he would also simultaneously, hold the dual position of Secretary Treasurer of the Acadia Parish Police Jury.
Credeur said, “One reason among many for my vote is that Parish Treasurer is a full time appointed position, required by law. Parish Manager is also a full time position. I consider the motion to be a violation of common sense, and a probable violation of the Dual Office Holding Law.”
Credeur went on to say, “Additional reasons for my opposition and concern, will become apparent as pending litigation unfolds.
I take my Oath of Office seriously and will always vote my conscience in the interest of good government.”
