Crimestoppers seeks public's assistance in Estherwood vehicle burglaries

Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish needs your help to solve a rash of vehicle burglaries.

Estherwood Police are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries which occurred on Sunday, November 7, 2010, between the hours of 12 a.m. and 4 a.m.. These vehicle burglaries occurred mainly in the northern area of Estherwood. In all, 14 vehicles were burglarized with assorted property being taken.

Shortly before 4 a.m., a home owner observed two white males on his property near his vehicle. These suspects fled on foot to a dark color vehicle with a third person waiting. All three suspects then drove away from the area. The vehicle is believed to be similar to a Saturn style vehicle. There were no other description available of the suspects.

According to Estherwood Police, additional burglaries of vehicles occurred in the Mermentau area during the same time frame.
