Crowley artist to show at Cité des Arts on Saturday
LAFAYETTE - Crowley artist Brandon Faulk is excited about his first solo show in Lafayette.
The one-night-only show is set for 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lafayette’s Cité des Arts this Saturday, Sept. 14.
Faulk, who has been drawing and painting since the third grade, studied art at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for a few years, but did not hit his stride until he left the university and moved back to the country south of Crowley four or five years ago.
Acccording to Faulk, the solitude of the country allowed him to completely explore his imagination and concentrate solely on his art.
Faulk’s subjects are extremely diverse, and his work tends to be inspired by his dreams, by the afterlife and spirits and by fantasy art. His paintings are bold and saturated in color.
Currently, Faulk is focused on pen and pencil drawings and painting. He mainly uses acrylics, but also does the occasional watercolor.
Although he had a solo show in Crowley years ago, this is his first in Lafayette.
Faulk does commissioned pieces, and some of his works are regularly displayed at Artmosphere in Lafayette.
Cité des Arts is located at 109 Vine St. in Lafayette. Faulk can be found on Facebook at BrandonFaulk-Artist.
