Crowley expects near freezing temperature

It is time for all of Crowley to take their coats, hats, scarves and boots out of retirement.

Cold weather is expected to grace the area shortly with the first frost to occur early Friday morning.

Meteorologists are predicting the overnight lows to drop near 33 degrees. Rain showers are expected to continue throughout the week, leaving a cold air movement to sweep the area.

Everyone is reminded to bring in pets and shield plants from the blustery wind.

Although the area will be experiencing frigid temperatures, rain and wind gusts the official start of winter isn’t until December 21.

The average temperatures for this area during the month of December is 52 degrees, with lows near 42 degrees.

During these unusually cold temperatures, everyone is reminded to observe safety precautions when using heating devices such as radiators, fire places and space heaters.
