Crowley High Class of 1974 holds reunion

On Saturday, June 6, the Crowley High class of 1974 celebrated its 35th class reunion. The reunion was held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall from 6 to 10 p.m.

Special plaques were given to members of the committee for all their time and help. Those receiving plaques were John and Cheryl Prather Signorelli, Cindy Broussard and Ramona Trahan Credeur.

Classmate Steven Broussard was awarded a plaque for the best golf game in the tournament held Friday at Bayou Bend golf course.

Teachers from the past who also attended the reunion included, Mrs. Elaine Gould Simon, Mr. Francis Leger and Coach Rodney Lafosse, accompanied by his wife, Lois.

Entertainment was provided by Nik-L-Beer band. The reunion committee donated their time and energy to hold several barbecue burger sales, a garage sale, along with a bake sale to raise the money to pay for the band. The committee also donated a portion of these proceeds to Crowley High to help defray the costs of the 2009 homecoming court flowers and crowns.

Attendees were greeted by members of the reunion committee, which included: Tony Faust, Brenda Cormier Sonnier, Patty Toups Helo, Cheryl Prather Signorelli, John Signorelli, Terry Morgan, Cindy Broussard, Lee John, Michael Boonie Hoffman, Ramona Trahan Credeur, Wayne Hebert, Marvin Richard and Suzette Hayes Credeur.

For the event, the hall was decorated with green and gold balloons throughout, as well as green and gold tablecloths and table arrangements with glittered “74” centerpieces.

Approximately 38 graduates and their spouses/dates attended the reunion. The reunion committee will begin work for the 2014 reunion in the next few months.

Vidrine, Marvin Richard, Charlene Richard Hebert, Belinda Vidrine Myers, Belinda Spell, Dena Melancon Faulk, Diane Lejeune Gary, Suzette Hayes Credeur, Suzanne Hayes Konkle, Weldon Konkle, John Signorelli, Brian Foreman, Kelly Duhon, Berton Gauthreaux, Julia Spell, Betty Gallet Richard, Ramona Trahan Credeur, Janet Guillory Williams, Cindy Broussard, Randall Simon and Diane Wright Hoffpauer.

The reunion committee would like to thank the following people who helped to make the reunion a success: Terry Morgan, for all his trips to the store on the day of the reunion; Lee John and Wayne Hebert for their computer expertise and graphics; Berton Gauthreaux for hamburger patty donation for the barbecue burger sale; Crowley High Backers for the use of the barbecue pit for the burger sales; Suzette Hayes Credeur, for the use of the corner lot at Head To Toes for barbecue sales; Michael “Boonie” Hoffman for all his cooking at the burger sales, even when he could not attend the reunion; Robert Helo for all of his help even though he is not a member of the class, he is an honorary member; Alberta John, for her brownies; Johnny Signorelli for providing the floats for all the festivals; Chris Breaux for chauffeuring the float; and Donna Breaux, for taking care of the food.
