Crowley High School Class of 1947 gather for reunion
Recently, the Crowley High School Class of 1947 gathered at
Chef Roy’s in Rayne for a class reunion celebrating 62 years since they originally graduated.
Reunion committee members included Mary Louise Douget, Roland Faulk, Alvin Voorhies, Bubby Hanley, Betty Vole, Gloria Gray, Jackie McBride, William and Shirley Winchester and Teddy Jean Greenwald.
Attending classmates enjoyed a delicious meal served by Chef Roy’s Cafe’.
Nine door prizes were won by randomly selected classmates.
Serving as the 1947 class officers were Lee Charles Hill, president; Teddy Jean Robbins, vice-president; and Dorothy Broussard, as secretary. Chosen as their class flower was the beautiful Shasta Daisy. Their class motto was “Make the most of today” and green and white were their class colors.
Class members attending were, Foster Doty, Nola Monceaux Abshire, William Winchester, Mary Louise Abshire Douget, Gloria Bartell Gray, Alvin Breaux, Esther Bourque Clement, Roland Faulk, Irma Lee Morgan Campbell, Teddy Jean Robbins Greenwald, Betty Mire Cole, Lula Mae Nolan Matt, Rayford Jeanis and Dorys Loewer Wiegand.
Class members attending the last reunion, but have since become deceased are Jo Anne Jeffers Richey and Albert Hoffpauir.
