Crowley Police arrest shooting suspect
Crowley Police have arrested a Jennings man on an arrest warrant issued for the April 13, 2011 shooting which occurred in the 200 block of North Ave A.
Shortly after 9 pm on April 13th, officers began an investigation of a shooting incident. Officers discovered that the victim, identified as Brandon Comeaux, was shot in the thigh area and in the head. Comeaux was transported to a local hospital and transferred to a regional trauma unit for his injuries. Comeaux survived the shooting incident and continues to be treated for his injuries.
During the investigation, police believe that robbery was the motive in the shooting. “It remains our belief that robbery was the motive behind the shooting of Brandon Comeaux” stated Chief of Police K.P. Gibson. “Our detectives have been working with multiple agencies as our suspect in this case resides in Jennings and is known for staying in the Lake Charles area” stated Chief Gibson.
After determining the identity of the person who shot Comeaux, police obtained an arrest warrant for Lionel Ed Pierre, 22 of Jennings. With the assistance of Louisiana State Police and Jennings Police, Pierre was taken into custody just before 5:00 pm on April 25, 2011 in Jennings. Pierre has been booked on the warrant issued by Judge Glenn Everrett for Attempted First Degree Murder. Bond has been set at $250,000. Pierre has been transferred to the Acadia Parish Jail.
“The charge of Attempted First Degree Murder stems from an attempt to kill during the commission of a robbery” stated Chief Gibson. “This investigation is not over as there was another suspect involved and we are working to identify this suspect. The case will remain open until we have made an arrest on ” stated Chief Gibson.
