Crowley Police make narcotics arrests

CROWLEY – Crowley Police Narcotics continues to fight the war on drugs as two more distributors of illegal narcotics have been taken off the streets Crowley.

Chief K.P. Gibson states, “ We are seeing a variety of narcotics flowing through our city. Our staff is dedicated to this fight and we will continue the efforts”.

The first incident occurred on Standard Mill Street within the city of Crowley. Tyson Lamon Winbush, 22 of Crowley, was arrested after he was discovered to be in possession of 18 Ecstasy pills. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Ecstasy. His bond has been set at $30,000.

In an unrelated investigation, narcotics agents arrested 19-year-old Darius Javonita Jennings of Crowley. During an investigation, Jennings was stopped for traffic violations. Agents then utilized a Crowley Police K-9, who alerted on the vehicle, indicating the detection of an illegal substance. Once agents searched the vehicle driven by Jennings, ½ of an ounce of Cocaine was recovered. “This product was prepared for distribution, as individual baggies we packaged at the time of arrest” stated Chief Gibson. Jennings was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail, pending bond.

The Crowley Police Department Narcotics Division is partially funded via grants provided through the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
