Crowley Police make narcotics arrests
Crowley Police Department Narcotics Agents have been hitting the streets of Crowley fighting the illegal drug industry. Agents during the past week, have secured 2 search warrants and have been successful during their searches.
“Our agents and street unit officers have been working hard to make cases for prosecution. The two search warrants completed this past week yielded a good amount of narcotics from 2 big players involved in the illegal distribution of drugs in our town” stated Chief K.P. Gibson.
The first search warrant was served at the address of 820 Ervin Breaux. During the search, agents recovered Crack Cocaine and Marijuana. After a brief struggle with the suspect during entry to the residence, officers were able to arrest Edward Mott, 33 of Crowley. Mott was arrest for Possession with the Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Battery of a Police Officer and multiple Outstanding Warrants. Mott has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Mott has an extensive history in dealing Crack Cocaine and Marijuana. Records indicate that Mott has served time in the custody of the Department of Corrections for drug charges and has multiple charges pending court action. Chief Gibson stated that he has spoken with the District Attorney’s Office asking for prosecution to the fullest of Mott due to his extensive history in the narcotics industry.
The second search warrant was served at the address of 410 Jacobs Ave. SWAT members were able to secure the residence without incident. During the search, agents were able to recover 50 rocks of Crack Cocaine, 2 Ounces of Codeine and monies from drug sales. Arrested were Brandel Moore, 25 of Crowley and Demetra Etienne, 23 of Crowley. Both suspects were booked on the charges of Possession with the Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Codeine and Monies Derived from Drug Proceeds. Both Moore and Etienne were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
Moore, like Mott, has an extensive history from the drug industry. Records indicate numerous arrests for possession of Crack Cocaine, Distribution of Crack Cocaine and Marijuana charges. Moore has also done time with the Department of Corrections on 2 separate occasions. As Mott, Moore has also been requested for the fullest prosecution possible by Chief Gibson to the District Attorney’s Office.
“We will continue our efforts to fight the illegal drug industry and we will focus harder on the repeat offenders, helping our District Attorney’s Office to remove those who choose to plague our streets” stated Chief Gibson.
