Crowley Police nab burglary suspect

Crowley Police have arrested a Crowley man after he was identified through surveillance video footage from the burglaries which occurred on November 1, 2010.

During the early morning hours, the businesses of LaGrange Food Mart and The Tanning Spot were broken into. The suspect was captured on video as he committed the criminal acts. Crowley Police then aired pictures from the video and received numerous calls regarding the crime.

“We received information from anonymous callers through Crime Stoppers which helped us identify the suspect and obtain arrest warrants” stated Chief K.P. Gibson. But the work did not stop there. After securing arrest warrants, it took several days to locate the suspect as he was hiding from law enforcement.

“Our officers were able to locate the suspect hiding under a residence in the 600 block of East Cedar St. Our officers were able to take the suspect into custody without incident” stated Chief Gibson.

Crowley Police arrested Daniel Thibodeaux, 28 of Crowley. Thibodeaux was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on 2 counts of burglary of a business. His bond has been set at $100,000 for each count.

These burglaries are not the first for Thibodeaux as he was recently released from incarceration after being convicted of burglary in the past.
