Crowley's Robert Trahan elected as vice chairman of USA Rice Millers’ Association
ARLINGTON, VA — The USA Rice Millers’ Association (RMA) has announced that Chris Crutchfield, and Robert Trahan, have been elected chairman and vice chairman respectively. Crutchfield and Trahan will serve a two-year term that begins Aug. 1, 2013, and ends July 31, 2015.
"I am honored and humbled to be elected to represent the people who have taught me so much over the past 30 years,” Crutchfield said. “I commit to this great organization that I will work to maintain and strengthen the value of the Rice Millers Association."
On behalf of the board, Crutchfield presented a plaque to outgoing RMA Chairman Mark Denman in recognition of his service and congratulated him on a job well done. “Mr. Chairman, you have served the industry well during your time in office and we thank you for your dedication,” Crutchfield said.
Crutchfield is president and CEO of American Commodity Company which he founded with his father, Paul Crutchfield, in 2000. He currently serves as chairman of the USA Rice Asia/Turkey Promotion Committee and is chairman of the California Rice Commission Public Education Committee. Crutchfield is a graduate of the 2003 Rice Leadership Development Program.
Trahan currently serves on the RMA board of directors. He owns Falcon Rice Mill in Crowley, LA.
