Breaux Bridge – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel for Darold Louis Guidry, 74, who passed away on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008, at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Interment followed at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2.
Rev. Louis Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Bernard Church, conducted the services.
Darold retired, having served as Chief Petty Officer-Aircraft Mechanic in the United States Navy. He was stationed in Naples, Italy, and Florida while in the service. He made Breaux Bridge his home for the last 35 years. He was a member of the American Legion and the Fleet Reserves.
Survivors include his wife, Elin Hoifors Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his son, Erik Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his daughter, Lea Walker and her husband Thomas of Spring, Texas; his brothers, Nolan Guidry of Denham Springs and Melvin Guidry of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Velma Lajaunie of Breaux Bridge and LeeAnna Serrette of Arnaudville; and two grandchildren, Paul and Ethan Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anlow and Candide LeBlanc Guidry;
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Pallbearers were Israel Guidry, Thomas Walker, Erik Guidry, Matthew Lajaunie, Sedric Patin and Billy Bridger.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge was in charge of arrangements.
