CROWLEY – Services were held Saturday, May 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer Church of the Nazarene in Ebenezer for Debra Sue McDaniel Mire, 53, a Crowley resident who died Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 2:40 p.m. at her residence.
Burial followed at Indian Bayou Methodist Cemetery in Indian Bayou.
Pastor T officiated the services.
Visitation was held Monday at the church from 12 noon until 9 p.m. and continued from 8 a.m. Tuesday with viewing until the time of the service.
Mrs. Mire is survived by her husband Calvin Mire of Crowley; two daughters, Kelly-Jo Cormier and her fiance Scott Gaspard, of Crowley, and Stephanie Mire, of Crowley; three grandchildren, Brittany, Cameron and Joshua Mire, all of Crowley; three brothers, Gerald and his wife Charlotte McDaniel of Florence, Colorado, Dewey and his wife Joyce McDaniel of Dallas, Texas, and Ronnie and his wife Donna McDaniel of Lake City, Florida; and two sisters, Joana Kniskey of Coalfax, Colorado and Barbara Ice of Florence, Colorado.
Debra is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth McDaniel; and one sister, Delores McDaniel LeBlanc.
After battling cancer for over two years she went to be with Jesus as a woman of faith. She has been a great inspiration to all of us as she has lived for her Lord in the midst of many months of extreme pain. She died as she lived, with her eyes looking up to her Savior.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.
