Delta Sigma Theta Crowley Alumnae Chapter installs new officers

The Crowley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., recently installed new officers for 2015-2017. Those installed include, seated from left, Cheryl Lewis, chaplain; Latikka Charles, first vice president; Yvonne Mills, president; LaQuanta Evans, recording secretary; Vicky Milson, parliamentarian; standing, Audry Spencer, assistant financial secretary; LaTanya Evans, assistant treasurer; Charlesetta Andrus, treasurer; Bertha Stevens, sergeant-at-arms; Michelle Calloway, journalist; and Ruth Wilson, financial secretary.

Crowley honors King's dream

Dr. Ricky E. Carter, pastor of Good Hope Baptist Church, was the keynote speaker at Monday’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration. The event, sponsored by the Crowley Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., is annually held at the Martin Luther King Center in Crowley on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

While offices and schools were closed Monday, the city of Crowley took a moment to reflect on the message Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
