Domestic call leads to drug arrests
CROWLEY - A recent domestic disturbance call led to both parties being arrested for various narcotics charges. The incident occurred at 613 N. Avenue D.
Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Upon their arrival, officers began to investigate the disturbance.
“While speaking with one of the persons involved, officers observed a strong smell of marijuana omitting from the persons vehicle” said Chief K.P. Gibson.
Officers took it a step forward and obtained consent to search the vehicle which led to the recovery of 31.5 grams of marijuana. However this case did not end here.
During the search, cocaine (powder) and crack cocaine were also recovered. In all 20.3 grams of crack cocaine and 26.6 grams of powder cocaine were recovered. Both parties involved in the disturbance were arrested based on the narcotics charges.
Arrested where Darrion Thomas, 31, of Crowley. He was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
Also booked was Temeka Davis, 21, of Crowley. She was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine. Crack cocaine and cocaine are under the same charge as they are both cocaine base.
Both were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
