Donation benefits local wildlife enforcement agents

Two local Evangeline Parish residents contacted local wildlife agents and asked them what items would help assist them to better the performance of their duties Wednesday, April 15, according to Sgt. Scott Fontenot.

Ronald Landreneau and Harry Hollahan, both of Evangeline Parish, donated one Garmin NUVI 200 GPS unit and one Simmons Blazer 20x60x60 spotting scope with a tripod stand. These items will assist the agents in their duties by allowing them to quickly arrive at a location when utilizing the GPS unit and in spotting violators from a distance with the scope.

Local residents have always been willing to help local wildlife agents, according to Fontenot. “These items will assist agents in the protection of the state’s natural resources and even in search and rescue missions when deployed throughout the state.”
