Double-ring ceremony unites couple
The Fenton Baptist Parsonage Church served as the setting for the afternoon, double-ring ceremony uniting Charlene Marie Sylvester and Timmy James Kyeer in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on October 11 at 2 p.m.
The bride is the daughter of Allen Sylvester of Mamou, the late Betty Fontenot of Eunice. She is the step-daughter of Felix Benoit.
The groom is the son of the late Laurits Joseph Kyeer of Fenton and Lana K. Kyeer of Fenton.
Presiding over the ceremony was the Rev. Alton Hodnett.
The church was beautifully decorated for the special occasion.
The altar featured an arch accented with pink, burgundy and white fresh flowers.
The church pews were accented with pink and burgundy tulle bows.
The front entrance table was decorated with a burgundy linen tablecloth, a fresh floral arrangement of pink and burgundy, a photograph of the couple and a registry book with a silver pen.
Given in marriage by her step-father Felix Benoit the bride was radiant in a white satin hand-beaded, re-embroidered lace gown. The sheer back of the dress was accented with sheer lace and featured a semi-cathedral train.
Her headpiece was a tulle veil accented with alencon lace.
The bride chose delicated beaded white gloves to complete her attire.
She carried a hand-held bouquet of pink bridal roses and pink, and burgundy ribbons. The bouquet was hand-made by the bride’s best friend Angie Hariford of Oakdale.
Tucked inside her bouquet was a burgundy rosary. This symbolized Something Old, given by the bridesmaid.Also inside the bouquet was a blush blue bracelet accented with a cross, given by her matron of honor in remembrance of the bride’s deceased mother. Something Borrowed the bride wore a pearl necklace and earrings, borrowed from the bridesmaid. Something New was the bride’s wedding gown and Something Blue was the bride’s blue garter.
Serving as matron of honor was Jamey Ortego of Everton, Ark., niece of the bride.
Bridal attendant included Crystal Francois of Eunice, niece of the bride.
The matron of honor wore a tea-length rose pink petal gown. She carried a long-stemmed pink and burgundy flower accented with burgundy satin ribbons.
The bridal attendant wore a tea-length burgundy dress. She carried a long-stemmed pink flower accented with burgundy satin ribbons.
Serving as flower girl was Hailey Francois of Eunice, daughter of Crystal and Jody Francois, niece of the bride. She wore a white satin dress accented with a burgundy lace sash around the waist. She wore white flowers in her hair and carried a basket of pink rose petals.
Serving as ring bearer was Carter James Ortego of Eunice, son of Shannon and Nikki Ortego of Eunice, nephew of the bride. He wore a white shirt with a matching black jacket. He carried a white satin pillow and was pinned with a white rose boutonierre.
Serving as best man was William Kyeer of Lake Charles, brother of the groom. Groomsman was Kevin Lee Ortego of Everton, nephew of the bride. The bestman wore a black tuxedo with a matching rose pink vest. He wore a white rose boutonniere. The groomsman wore a black tuxedo with a matching burgundy vest and white rose boutonniere.
The groom wore a black tuxedo with a matching white vest and was pinned with a pink and burgundy boutonniere.
The mother of the groom wore a one-piece rose pink floral dress. She wore a corsage of pink, white and burgundy flowers.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the church hall.
The wedding cake was a three-tiered confection with fillings of banana, Italian cream pecan, and strawberry. The cake topper was a white porcelain bride and groom.
The bridal and groom’s table was decorated with a burgundy linen table skirting. The groom’s cake was a three-tiered coconut cream cake with pineapple filling. The cake featured a monster truck show.
Special out of town guests included Joe and Shirley Jene, uncle and aunt of the groom.
The Wedding Trip
The couple took a week- long cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymen, Cozumel, Mexico for their honeymoon.
The couple are both employed at the Grand Casino Resort in Kinder.
They have made their home in Fenton.
