Doucet seeking Ward One city marshal seat
In announcing his candidacy for city marshal of Ward One, Ronald “T” Doucet focused on the responsibilities of the job itself.
“As police juror of District Eight for the past 12 plus years, located entirely in Ward One of Evangeline Parish, I have developed the relationships necessary to fulfill the job’s requirements. In as much as the office’s primary functions are to contact people having business with the city court of Ville Platte, issue subpoenas and execute warrants, my personal knowledge as it relates to the citizens of Ward One and their families will assist me in the proper and timely discharge of these duties,” Doucet said.
Doucet is married to Lisa Thomas Doucet of Ville Platte and they have two daughters, Leah and Lacey. “I love my family and am constantly conscious of the efforts we must put forth to ensure improvements to the quality of life here at home” he said.
Doucet is proud of his upbringing right here in Ward One. “My father, Nelson, and my mother, Maudry, raised me and my brother, Earl, to work hard and respect others” Doucet continued.
“I truly enjoy making new friends. I have enjoyed serving the public and see working as city marshal as an opportunity to serve and meet more people. One of my goals, as an elected official, has been to help to unite our community. I know my election as city marshal will enhance our ability to further the community’s achievements in that regard.”
“I ask for your thoughts and prayers for me and my family. I am planning to visit as many of you as possible in the coming months leading up to the election. I want to earn your vote and I pledge to be an accessible, hard-working city marshal. Thank you and may God bless you,” Doucet concluded.
