Dr. Reggie Goldsby M.D. . . . LSU Clinical Professor
Local doctor and Amite Mayor Reggie Goldsby has been giving an appointment to join the faculty of the Department of Medicine, School of Medicine, LSY Health Sciences Center in New Orleans as a Clinical Professor.
Goldsby is also certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) as a family medicine doctor. The ABFM is a non-profit, independent physician organization in the U.S. that certifies physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Goldsby has in fact been certified for the last 35 years. Amazingly enough out of the 74,000 doctors certified in that particular field only 100 of the ones certified the same year as Goldsby are still certified.
Goldsby has been a medical doctor since 1969. When asked why he became a doctor his replied, "Because my mother said to!"

Goldsby attended medical scholl at LSU and trained at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge. Now, Goldsby works at Earl K. Long every Friday seeing patients when they leave the emergency room.
"I love being a doctor. It's not what it use to be. But it's still thought of as one of the best professions. I get to actually help people everyday I work," stated Goldsby.
