Early voting to begin October 3
CROWLEY – Early voting for the October 17, 2009 open primary will begin on Saturday, October 3, 2009 and Monday, October 5, 2009 through Saturday, October 5, 2009 through Saturday, October 10, 2009. Office hours will be from 8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Proper identification is required during early voting. Please bring the following forms of identification when voting: Louisiana Driver’s License or Current Louisiana Identification Card and your voter registration card.
Voters who require assistance during early voting or when they go to their voting precinct on election day are required to bring a physician’s certificate or excise stating the reason they need assistance. This document is to be given to the Registrar or to the Commissioner in charge to be delivered to the Registrar.
The three propositions to be voted on are:
- Shall Iota - Long Point Gravity Drainage District of Acadia Parish, Louisiana (the “District”), be authorized to levy a special tax of five (5) mills (the estimated amount reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the tax for one entire year being $42,500) on all property subject to taxation within the District, for a period of ten (10) years beginning with the year 2010 and ending with the year 2019, for the purpose of improving, maintaining and operating the drainage system within the District?
- Shall Bayou Mallet Gravity Drainage District of Acadia Parish (the District), be authorized to levy a special tax of five and four hundredths (5.04) mills tax (the estimated amount reasonably expected to be collected from the levy of the tax for one entire year.
- 10 year, 480 mills property tax renewal for acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and/or operating fire protection facilities and equipment in Fire Protection District No. 5 and paying the cost of obtaining water for fire protection purposes.
