Early voting completed, election is Saturday

Early voting has ended and the final numbers have been counted for the election to be held Saturday, April 4.

A total of 644 votes were cast during early voting, which took place from Saturday, March 21, to Saturday, March 28. Daily numbers were: Saturday, March 21, 194; Monday, 108; Tuesday, 76; Wednesday, 74; Thursday, 61; Friday, 60; and Saturday, March 28, 71.

The April 4, ballot includes the following:

•Public Service Commissioner - District No. Four. Candidates are Clyde C. Holloway, “Joe” McPherson and Gil Pinac.

•Police Juror - District No. Eight seat. Candidates are Albert “Boo Boo” Frank, Norman Johnson, “Brad” Thomas, Vashanski “Shanky” Thomas and Ryan “Leday” Williams.

•School District No. Seven - Ward Two (Basile). This is a 10-year renewal for 6.19 mills for maintenance and operation of public schools in this district.
