Early voting runs through Saturday

Although it has not had the level of publicity that the upcoming presidential election has generated, the election on Saturday, July 19 is still an opportunity to exercise your right to vote.

Early voting will be held in the Registrar of Voters’ Office from 8:3- a.m. through 4:30 p.m. through the rest of this week, including Saturday.

Those who want to vote during this early voting period must be a registered voter living within the boundaries of the Hospital Service District No. 2 and must provide identification with a picture of themselves and a signature (such as on a driver’s license or state identification card).

On the ballot is a single proposition calling for a 1/2 (one-half) cent sales tax increase to fund hospital emergency room operations and acquiring, maintaining and improving hospital buildings, equipment and other capital facilities within the hospital district.

The Registrar of Voters’ office is located on the first floor of the courthouse in Abbeville. To contact that office call 337-898-4324.
