Edias Moreau Menard
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. for Edias Moreau Menard, 87, who died Monday, June 1, 2009 in Heart Hospital of Lafayette.
Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Surviving are two sons, James Harold Menard and wife Shirley of Crowley, and John H. Menard and his very close companion, Shirley Simon, of Rayne; a grandson, James Lynn Menard; a granddaughter, Patricia Hux; a granddaughter, Janice Hulin; a grandson, Allen Menard; a grandson, Fredrick Menard; a granddaughter, Jackie Summers; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lene Moreau of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Menard; one brother, Joseph “C A” Moreau; and four sisters, Eveylena Doucet, Adine Broussard, Ledania Savoy and Thereas Esterling.
She was born Sunday, September 18, 1921 in Church Point, daughter of the late Calias Moreau and the late Silva Richard Moreau.
A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother even being partially paralizes in and automobile accident at the age of 26, she still raised her family and was a great cook.

Friends were received Monday, June 1, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 2, from 8 a.m. until the service held at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., in Rayne.
