Edmund Lewis Regan

EGAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2009 at St. Michael Chapel in Egan for Edmund Lewis Regan, 59, who died February 6, 2009 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Fr. David Broussard, Pastor of Holy Rosary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Iota. Interment will be in Sensat Cemetery.

Mr. Regan was a member of the United States Air Force for 21 years where he served during the Vietnam War. He served in Guam, Egypt, Korea, Okinawa, and several state wide bases. Edmund received the Commendation Medal, Achievement Medal, Outstanding unit Award with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Good Conduct Medal with Silver Star and One Oak Leaf Cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Short Tour Ribbon with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Longevity Service Award Ribbon with Four Oak leaf Clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon with One Oak Leaf Cluster, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, the Air Force Training Ribbon, and Meritorious Service Award.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Brenda Garrett Regan of Egan; two sons, James Regan and his wife Angela of Bossier City, and Rev. John Regan of Louisville, KY; one grandson, Nathan Regan of Bossier City; three sisters, Margaret Regan of Eunice, Sr. Patricia Regan CDP of Houston, and Jackie Waldrep and her husband Gilbert of Egan; two brothers, Gerald Regan and his wife Jo Anne of Egan, and Raymond Regan and his wife Deborah of The Woodlands, TX; and special military comrades, Kurt Guidry of Mermentau, Wayne Wright of Doyline, and Doc Spillman of Haughton.

Mr. Regan is preceded in death by his parents, James and Ella Simar Regan.
