Edwards book creates sensation
By Paula Guillory
Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards yet again causes a ripple felt throughout the state.
The newly written authorized biography by journalist Leo Honeycutt is making a splash wherever this highly anticipating publishing is sold.
According to one source, “phones have been ringing all morning with questions and orders about the new book.”
Honeycutt met Edwards in 1973 during his first term as governor and has had the opportunity to continue coverage of the politician throughout his current prison sentence.
This book takes the reader through the 50-year, sensational career of a man who got his political start right here on the Crowley City Council in 1954. His flamboyant public persona along with his political character has throttled Edwards into a Louisiana populist among the ranks of Huey P. Long.
The biography, Edwin Edwards Governor of Louisiana, can be ordered through The Crowley Post-Signal at 602 North Parkerson Avenue in Crowley for $28.95 plus tax.
