Elderberries plan tour to Memphis
The Elderberries senior group of St. Joseph Catholic Church is scheduling a December tour to Memphis, Tenn., from Dec. 1 to 4
The total price will be $300 per person with a $100 down payment due by Oct. 10, and the balance due by Nov. 25.
The group will depart at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1 by Calco motor coach from St. Joseph Church.
Rest stops along the way will include lunch at a fast food restaurant.
The group will arrive at Harrah’s Casino Hotel in Tuncia, Miss., 15 minutes from Memphis at 4 p.m.
Lodging will be double occupancy only, with the casino providing $5 in casino money every day and free breakfast.
The Elderberries group will attend the Paula Dean
buffet at the hotel at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary breakfast will be served Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 7 to 8 a.m.
The tour bus will leave for Memphis at 9 a.m. and arrive at the Peabody Hotel at 11 a.m. to view the “duck parade.” Lunch will follow at the Peabody Hotel. Also included in the tour pacgage will be a visit to the Rock and Roll Museum at 1:30 p.m.
Another tour event will be a 6 p.m. meal at the Butcher Shop Steakhouse.
The tourists will return to the casino at 8 p.m.
Following complimentary breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. a the casino, the group will tour St. Jude Hospital at 10 a.m.
The 12 noon lunch at The Pig on Beale Street is included in the tour package, as well as a tour of Graceland at 1:30 p.m.
On Friday, Dec. 4, the day will begin with breakfast at the casino. Luggage will be loaded and group will begin its trip home at 9:30 a.m.
The tour coach should arrive in Rayne between 7 and 8 p.m.
