Engagement Party Held in Honor of...
With the approaching wedding nuptials of Kelli Broussard and Luke Moody, both of Rayne, an engagement party was held Friday, July 24, at the home of the bride-elect’s parents, Tom and Rhonda Broussard of Rayne
The prospective groom is the son of Lisa Moody and Lonnie Moody, both of Rayne.
Party hostesses were Tom and Rhonda Broussard, Scott and Katie Broussard, Lauren Broussard and Jordan Woods.
The special event was held on the home’s backyard brick patio area with the evening aglow with candles, low lights and paper laterns. Beverages were placed in a piouge near the patio, along with fingerfoods nearby for guests to enjoy.
Pictures of the couple were displayed along with a basket for guests to write well-wishes to the couple.
Guests were treated to a variety of buffet items, including brisket, chicken salad sandwiches, ham, turkey, shrimp mold, baklava, tortilla rollups, vegetable tray, fruit tray, Mexican layered dip, cheese tray, spinach dip in bread bowl, sausage, and assorted pastries all served in silver and crystal containers, along with assorted beverages.
Approximately 60 guests were in attendance for the evening social, attending from Rayne, Crowley, Lafayette, Church Point, Youngsville, St. Martinville, Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Special guests in attendance were the bride’s maternal grandparents, Hilary and Melba Olinger, and the groom’s grandparents, L.J. and Lou Moody and Raymond and Mary Lee Trahan.
Kelli and Luke will be married on Nov. 6, 2009 during a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Rayne Civic Center Ballroom.
