Eugene Joseph Thibodeaux
JENNINGS – A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. honoring the life of Eugene Joseph Thibodeaux, age 56, who died January 15, 2012 in Winnie, Texas. Eugene will be laid to rest in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery with Father Neil McNeill officiating his services.
Eugene Joseph was born in Lake Charles on January 31, 1955 to the late Nelson Thibodeaux Sr. and Esther Lee Vincent Thibodeaux. He worked as a truck driver for 18 years driving 18 wheelers and he was also a police officer in Lake Arthur. He enjoyed traveling the open road, riding motorcycles and reading.
Eugene was survived by three sisters, Patricia Ann Amerson of Rayne, Rowena Delahoussaye of New Iberia and Sharon Lynn Thibodeaux of Chataignier; and his stepmother Amy T. Thibodeaux of Lake Charles.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Nelson Thibodeaux Jr.
The Thibodeaux family would like to thank the many special people who gave such excellent care to Eugene in his time of need: Wilda Thibodeaux, Kenneth Thibodeaux, Roberta Thibodeaux, and the staff at Arboretum Nursing & Rehab.
Visitation was held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral mass.
