Eunice Players’ Theatre announces next play
In 2004, the three big bad boys of abridgement rewrote history in 90 minutes with “The History of America, abridged.”
Now they will shred their way through the greatest books of literature in 90 minutes as Eunice Players’ Theatre presents the comedy, “All The Great Books, abridged,” written by Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor. This is the second show of the Eunice Players’ Theatre’s 39th season and directed by Debi L. Crawford.
“All the Great Books, abridged” features, once again, the comedy trio of Kevin Miller, Kevin Courville and Van Reed. Who needs The Illiad and The Odyssey when you can have The Idiodyssy? The classic, Little Women, is boring until the coach explains it as a play-by-play football diagram. Why should anyone read Charles Dickens’ novels when the trio presents it as a soap opera? No need to read the 1,500 page War and Peace when the boys can reduce it down to a 10 minute dramatic production. Any fan of Cliff Notes will definitely appreciate the lessons of this comedy.
Buckle your seat belts for a rollercoaster ride as the trio of actors re-educate your literary knowledge of the world’s greatest classics in the comedy, “All The Great Books, abridged.” The show opens Saturday, September 13th, and runs through Saturday, September 20th. Single ticket information will become available for September 1st. For more information, please call Louis Wright’s at 457-3330.
