Family Empowerment Expo to be held
CROWLEY – The Acadia Parish Solutions to Poverty (StoP) Coalition invites all Acadia Parish parents to attend the Second Annual Family Empowerment Expo which will be held on Monday, March 9 at the Rice Festival Building in Crowley from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The Expo’s mission is to strengthen families by providing community resource information and support. It will feature exhibits by state and local government agencies, local and support. It will feature exhibits by state and local government agencies, local technical schools, community non-profits, and faith-based organizations. Motivational presentations will seek to educate attendees on the negative outcomes of truancy and increase awareness of the dangers associated with drug abuse and gang involvement.
Free food and door prizes will be provided. The Acadia Parish School System’s title I Parental Involvement Office is coordinating transportation for the event. Anyone in need of transportation should contact their child’s school in advance for more information.
