Family fun day to follow school supply drive

Every year, hundreds of children in the Rayne community go to school without the needed supplies or other essential supplies necessary for their education.

The A&O 21st Century Club will again strive to provide these necessary tools to those students and families in need with a school supply drive, a continued success due to monetary donations, school supplies, and the support of the City of Rayne.

The community is urged to support this opportunity to help several children throughout the city and get them ready to learn in the upcoming school year.

The street drive will be held Friday, Aug. 5 starting at 4 p.m. and  Saturday, Aug. 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Sunday, Aug. 7, the annual city-wide family fun day and back-to-school event will be held at the Civic Center from 1 to 7 p,m. Children will enjoy fun jumps, games, free food, and 3 on 3 tournament for middle and high school students starting at 3 p.m. School supplies will be distributed starting at 3 p.m.
