Faulks celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

A gathering of friends and family members accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Harry Faulk in celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 28, 2008. They were married on June 27, 1948, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Monsignor A. O. Sigur officiating. The couple was given praise for this remarkable accomplishment.

On this blissful evening at the South Crowley Knight’s of Columbus Home, Mr. and Mrs. Faulk were amidst many loved ones including their two grown children Charlotta F. Hayes of Lafayette and Robert K. Faulk of Crowley.

They are the proud grandparents of four, Christopher Perrodin of Carencro, Stephen Hayes of Lafayette, Pamela Dauphiné and Bridget Faulk, both of Crowley. They are great grandparents to Tayler and Brooke Perrodin of Carencro; and Evan Dauphiné of Crowley.

Mrs. Faulk is the former Miss Gloria Lusco. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Lusco. Mr. Faulk is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Irving Faulk. They are both enjoying a retired life from the workforce.

On this special occasion Mrs. Faulk was radiant in black charmeuse dress slacks topped with an exquisitely designed cracked ice shell and jacket combination in black. Her top was highlighted with rose embellishments.

The decor of the K. C. Home was exceptional. The guest’s register table held a porcelain 60th anniversary vase from England adorned with light pink and white roses. An enlarged photo taken on their wedding day in 1948 of the couple and their attendants provided the background scene.

Guests were seated at luxurious tables covered with white linens and topped with centerpieces of fern planters entwined with baby’s breath. Crystal votive candles and mirrors were added to finalize the detailing.

A massive arrangement of white and cream blooms which filled an elegant antique urn acquired much attention as it sat on the refreshment table.

The cake table, also covered with a white linen cloth, held the separated, three-tiered, white anniversary cake. The magnificent confection was trimmed with butter cream garland. A hand-blown crystal topper with the number “60” incorporated within the design was place on the top tier to signifying the overall design. The husband of 60 years was honored with a chocolate cake featuring the number “60” as the focal point. Each corner was denoted with an over sized crystal diamond. Serving as the background of this splendid table were flags representing the American and Italian heritages.

The function accommodated approximately 250 guests traveling from destinations including Jennings, New Iberia, Lafayette, Rayne, Seminole, Florida and surrounding communities.
