Federal minimum wage to increase

On July 24 the federal minimum wage will increase from it’s present hourly rate of $6.55 to $7.25. The increase will take effect on the same date as it did last year when it was raised from $5.85 to $6.25.

To be in full compliance with both state and federal laws, every Louisiana worksite must post a listing the following information:

•workers compensation fraud (new)

•equal employment opportunity

•earned income credit

•timely payment of wages

•age discrimination

•out-of-state motor vehicles

•worker’s compensation

•employers support/guard and reserves (National Guard)

•unemployment insurance

•sickle cell anemia discrimination

•child labor

•genetic information/discrimination

•no smoking poster

The state and federal government mandates that both state and federal posters be posted.
