First Annual Fall Fun Fest set
As a public service for the children of Rayne, Candyland Cottage, along with local and parish organizations, will present the first annual Fall Fun Fest on Saturday, Oct. 25, at Candyland in Rayne.
For a very minimal fee, children can enjoy a variety of events, with candy and prizes to be awarded to everyone.
This “Fall Fun Fest” will take place from noon to 6 p.m. with game booths, pumpkin patch pictures, tractor train rides, corn shelling demonstrations, pumpkin decorating contest, costume contest and more.
The Rayne Police and Fire Departments will be on hand with educational and security programs for the entire family, as well as McGruff and the Rayne Fire Department’s mascot, Sparky the Fire Pup.
Volunteers are needed for this family fun, safe, carnival type event to help accept tickets for the booths and assist in running games, organizing the participants in the contests, etc.
Many organizations may be in need of volunteer hours to fulfill requirements for their clubs and organizations. Any assistance would be gladly welcomed.
Some of the activities planned include: pumpkin patch, sack races, pumpkin painting, egg race, costme contest, ring the pumpkin, candy toss, face painting, bean bag toss, train rides, lucky apples, antique corn shelling demonstrations, sandbox for little bitties, picture taking, bubbles for little bitties, pumpkin pie, fishing for prizes, caramel and fudge dipped apples, candy walk, along with the Police and Fire Department mascots.
