Henderson — The Association of Louisiana Bass Clubs is putting on its 24th annual Youth Fishing Tournament out of Basin Landing, on the levee here, this Saturday, June 7.

Kids in two divisions, ages 3-9 and 10-15, will compete in four categories: Bass, Crappie (Sac-a-lait), Bream and Rough Fish.

You can register at the landing starting at 5:30 a.m. Registration fee is $7 and includes T-shirts, food and drinks.

Proceeds go to various charities.

Fishing begins at safe daylight with weigh-in at noon.

More than one contestant can fish out of the same boat, consistent with the boat’s capacity restrictions.

“The ALBC is working very hard with our youth of tomorrow by showing them the good things that our great outdoors has to offer to them,” said guide and tournament official Laurette Mequet.
