Five charged in Basile, narcotics and cash seized
BASILE - At approximately 6:45 p.m. Friday, August 22, the Basile Police Department, along with the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office and Eunice Police Department, executed a search warrant at 2373 Guillory St., in Basile.
Information received by Captain Keith Dupre, chief of detectives for the sheriff’s office, from a confidential informant stated illegal narcotics were being sold by individuals at that residence.
Upon arrival, officers searched the premises and the individuals present. They located illegal narcotics and cash, which were seized by police. A total of five individuals were arrested. They were:
•Frank Ceasar, 30, who was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana.
•Dwight Hampton, 33, who was charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule II narcotics.
•Kevin Desmond Richard, 28, who was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and distribution of crack cocaine.
•Eldrick Richardson, 37, who was charged with distribution of Schedule II narcotics.
•Darren Oneal Richardson, 25, who was charged with distribution of marijuana.
All suspects were transported to the Evangeline Parish Jail.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office continues to work in partnership with the Basile Police Department in an effort to eradicate illegal drug trafficking in the community. Chief Allen Ivory thanked Sheriff Eddie Soileau, Dupre and all other officers for their continued assistance.
