Floating bridal shower honors Lauren Johnson
Lauren Johnson of Rayne, bride-elect of Eli Brewer of Fort Polk, was honored during a miscellaneous bridal shower on Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the home of Albert and Bonnie Johnson in Rayne.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Edward Johnson of Rayne and the late Tina Matthews.
The prospective groom is the son of Brian and Kristina Smith of Maine.
Hosting the pre-nuptial social were Mary Comeaux, Karris Toups, Brenda Hooper, Jeannie Johnson, Bonnie Johnson, Emily LeBouef, and Amy Johnson, honoree’s stepmother.
Guests were served a plentiful menu, including pinwheels, crawfish dip, cream puffs, brownies, lemon bars, meatballs, spinach dip, vegetable, caramel pecan cheeseball, taco dip, fruit tray and punch.
For the floating miscellaneous shower, the refreshment table was overlaid with a beige tablecloth, centered with a garden arrangement of amaryllis, Easter lilies and St. Joseph lilies.
For the special occasion, Miss Johnson wore a knee-length ivory dress featuring spaghetti straps and sequin designs.
Approximately 40 family members and guests were in attendance from numerous cities of the Acadiana area.
Special guests in attendance were Patsy Daigle, honoree’s maternal grandmother, and Matilda Johnson, honoree’s paternal grandmother.
Lauren and Eli were married during a seven o’clock evening wedding ceremony on Saturday, May 1, 2010.
