Fontenot, Farmer announce engagement

CROWLEY - Desire’ Michelle Fontenot of Midland and Dustin Cole Farmer of Deridder will be united in marriage at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate the ceremony at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Crowley.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mitchell and Rhonda Fontenot. She is the maternal granddaughter of Willard Henry of Midland and the late Patty Henry. Her paternal grandparents are Lloyd Fontenot of Mermantau and the late Bertha Fontenot.

Desire’ is a 2007 Midland High School graduate and in May 2011 she graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at Byrd Regional in Leesville.

The prospective groom is the son of James and Nona Farmer of Trout. His maternal grandparents are the late Herbert and Peggy Rosier. He is the paternal grandson of the late Clyde and Rita Farmer.

Dustin is a 2003 Jena High School graduate. In 2007 he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture from McNeese State University. He currently works for Natural Resources Conservation Services as a district conservationist.

After the wedding, the newlyweds will reside in Deridder.
