Fred Michael Hebert
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, February 16, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Fred Michael Hebert, 51, who died Friday, February 13, 2009 at 3:30 a.m. in Duson.
Fred was a native of Crowley and a resident of Lafayette. He was a machinist for Blueline Manufacturing. For many years Fred was a DJ in the local area and was known as “The Wiz”.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, officiated for the services. The family requested visiting hours Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to service time.
A rosary was recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Holly H. Absher and her husband Nevin of North Carolina, Nicole Royer and her husband Donovan of Crowley, Kimberly Hebert of Lafayette, Mindy Hebert of Lafayette; his mother, Joy B. Breaux and her husband Richard of Duson; his father, Lester J. Hebert and his wife Gretchen of Crowley; five sisters, Georgie H. Comeaux of Kaplan, Angelic H. Broussard of Abbeville, Michelle Miller of Crowley, Brandy Lejeune of Crowley and Leslie Myers of Scott; two brothers, Dennis Wayne Hebert of Duson and Preston Joseph Hebert of Rayne; five grandchildren, Kaildyn Laliberte, Ryland Absher, Macie Royer, Jack Absher and Jaylynn Gary; his former wife, Linda Hebert of Lafayette; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Preston Hebert, Neil Gonzalez, Aaron Liebert, Randal Trahan, Craig Bellfy, and Joseph Roy.
The family requested memorial contributions to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
