FREE ASL HUNTER AWARENESS DAY ENJOYED - The Acadiana Sportsmen’s League recently hosted its annual Hunter Awareness Day, free of charge,

at the Police Firing Range in Crowley. Activities were provided for youths up to 15 years of age. A B-B gun shooting contest was held for kids 15 years and under in three age groups. Archery was taught from the Bayou State Bow Hunters Association as participants shot at 3-D targets. Participants also learned about the D.A.R.E. Program “Just Say No” and visited with the Acadian Ambulance Service. Youngsters also learned safe hunting skills, safe shooting skills, and respect for wildlife and the environment. Free skeet shooting was provided for all. All skeet, sheels and guns were provided at no charge, along with free food and beverages, in addition to hundreds of dollars in prizes and shirts given away during the free event.
