Garrett Savoie installed as acolyte
Garrett B. Savoie of Mire, was installed into the Ministry of Acolyte on October 22, 2010. The installation was held at St. Rita's Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Most Reverend Roger Morin, Bishop of Biloxi, Mississippi, presided over the ceremony.
Garrett is in his second year of the Master of Divinity program at Notre Dame Seminary Graduate School of Theology in New Orleans, Louisiana, studying for the Diocese of Lafayette.
In attendance were his parents, Brian and Missle Savoie; his brother Brodie Savoie; grandparents, Rogers and Betty Doucet; aunt and uncle, Jake and Melanie Lavergne and their daughter Kelli; aunt and uncle, Pajoe and Pam Benoit, and their children, Alex, Olivia and Gavin.
The alb and amice that was worn by Garrett for his installation was sewn by his cousin, Jean Claire Thibodeaux.
