Gaston Butaud, Jr.
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2008 at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Gaston Joseph Butaud, Jr., 83, who Friday, December 11, 2008 at the SW LA War Veteran’s Home in Jennings.
Fr. Charles McMillin, Pastor of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, will celebrate the funeral services and the burial at the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, December 13, 2008 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Butaud was born March 12, 1925 in New Orleans. He was raised in Crowley and graduated from Crowley High School. He served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber in Lake Charles after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Hayes Butaud of Lake Charles; a son Blaine Butaud and his wife Jaclyn of Lake Charles; a daughter, Elizabeth Carol Fontenot and her husband, Dwayne of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, Michael Vincent, Joshua Butaud, Robin Butaud, Katelyn Fontenot, Tiffany Fontenot and Breanne Fontenot; 2 great-grandchildren, Colin and Cade Vincent.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston J. Butaud, Sr. and Anita Schexnayder and a brother, Lloyd Butaud.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. of Crowley.
