JENNINGS – Funeral services for Mr. George Allen Cart, 86, were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2008 in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.
Burial was held in St. Lawrence Catholic Church Cemetery in Mowata under direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.
Funeral home visitation was from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.
A rosary led by Mrs. Margie Dupuis was recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Cart died at 9:15 a.m., Thursday, December 25, 2008 in the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans’ Home in Jennings.
Mr. Cart was a native of Iota and a resident of Jennings 58 years. He was a graduate of the Iota High School and was a retired wholesaler for retail sales. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Helen Ruth Fontenot and husband Anderson Fontenot, Jr. of Welsh and two grandchildren, Heida Fontenot Mallett and husband Brandon of Welsh and Allen (A.J.) Fontenot also of Welsh.
Preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Amenthe Miller Cart; his wife Elenora Hensgens Cart and one son, George Cart, Jr.
