Gossen named Conservation Farmer of the Year

CROWLEY – At the Annual Banquet held on February 18, 2009, the Acadia Soil & Water Conservation District, (SWCD), selected Dwayne Gossen as the 2008 Conservation Farmer of the Year.

Dwayne has done a tremendous job in applying conservation on over 1000 acres of cropland through our office. He has completed 344 acres of irrigation land leveling, 7 pipedrops, 992’ of irrigation pipeline and one well closure.

He was also fortunate to be selected in the 2005 Conservation Security Program which rewards producers for actively applying sound conservation on the land.

Dwayne has 770 acres accepted under this program. He is a very conscientious farmer and never hesitates to do the right thing. The Acadia SWCD congratulates Dwayne on a job well done.
