Guidry, Barousse engaged

Claire Elizabeth Guidry and Charles Elder Barousse will be married during a 2 p.m. nuptial mass on Saturday, May 30, 2009.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Mrs. Steve Guidry, the former Elizabeth Nehrbass, and the late Steve Guidry of Lafayette. She is the granddaughter of the late Mrs. Ronald J. Gossen and the late Judge Douglas Nehrbass of Lafayette and Mr. and Mrs. Curley Guidry of Scott.

Claire is a graduate of St. Thomas Moore Catholic High School, and received a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana State University Honors College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa honorary society.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Edward Barousse, Jr. He is the grandson of Mr. Donald L Baker and the late Mrs. Donald Baker of Shreveport and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer E. Barousse, Sr. of Crowley.

Charles is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Acadiana, received a bachelor of science degree from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, a masters from University of Essex in Colchester, England, and is currently completing his doctoral studies at the Institute of Cognitive Studies at University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

After the wedding, the couple plans to reside in Lafayette.
